Architect or Architectural Designer with Residential Experience
Alan Madewell & Associates Architects is seeking a creative and dedicated person who has a passion for designing multi-million dollar, one of a kind single family homes. Come be a big part of the process from concept, through the construction to seeing the completed home. Find that love of satisfaction in seeing your designs built! Be a part of the excitement in creating really good Architecture.
For over 35 years, The team at Alan Madewell & Associates has specialized in high-end residential architecture and interior design from our studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our projects span across the U.S., with robust budgets ranging anywhere from $2 million to over $18 million dollars, and in a variety of exciting Architectural styles. We do occasional commercial projects, but the vast majority of our work—and our true passion—is residential architecture that enriches the lives of our clients through designs that are beautiful, functional and enduring. We’re not talking run of the mill house design, we’re designing custom, original, highly detailed, outstanding homes for our clients. Come join our team of dedicated creative designers where you can be a big part of the full experience.
If you are a licensed Architect or professional on the path to licensure and this job posting resonates with you, we want to talk with you. We are looking for an energetic team player to join our group of designers and grow into the role of Project Architect where you’ll manage all aspects of a given project from beginning to end.
Work with the principal on the preliminary design to deliver sketches, renderings, and preliminary plans to the Client
Translate preliminary plans and elevations into working drawings through design development
Coordinate with consultants (structural engineers, landscape architects, suppliers, manufacturing representatives, etc.) to cover all aspects of a project down to the smallest detail
Manage project material selections and specifications
Complete construction document sets that are clear and concise for permitting and pricing
Work with contractors hands-on, at-site, to answer questions, provide additional details and get to see the design become a reality
Detail cabinetry and trim throughout the home
Organize the project documents and be the point of contact on the project
Work hard but really enjoy what you’re doing with a team of people that are creative and passionate about their designs
While expertise across the full scope of these tasks is not expected on your first day at the office, working with us will develop these skills daily as you grow into an expanded role. Check out our website, MadewellArchitects.com for photos and sketches of some of our previous work. That isn’t the full portfolio but it is a quick review of the type of designs you can be a part of creating.
If you’ve made it this far, your next step is clear: send a cover letter, résumé, references, and work samples to Alan@madewellarchitects.com. We’ll have a glass of wine, review what you sent and get back to you quickly.
