Description
The Graduate Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Design department at Pratt Institute is calling for applications of prospective candidates for possible opportunities to join our part-time teaching faculty, starting in the Fall 2025 semester.
The Graduate Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Design department is committed to educating students to become creative and responsible design leaders capable of bringing positive changes in culture, society, and environment. Devoted to a creative learning community, Pratt recognizes the strength that stems from a diversity of perspectives, ideas, backgrounds, approaches and experiences. We seek applicants with a broad vision of the future of the design field and the ability to articulate that vision. We encourage applicants with experience and knowledge in any of the following areas of expertise:
Design studio teaching experience
Technical expertise in building systems design
Digital and physical fabrication, visualization, and/or communication
History/Theory
Examples of Duties
Teach part-time seminars in the Graduate Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Design department in the mediums, technology, or history/theory sequence
Teach part-time in the M.Arch, M.LA, MS Arch, or MSUD studio sequence
Qualifications
Applicants are required to have a professional degree in architecture, landscape architecture, or relevant fields, and undergraduate or graduate-level teaching experience. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, a demonstrated level of intercultural competence, and ability to work well with diverse populations.
Pay Rate: $3000-4000 per contact hour
