Little is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer with a positive, hands-on, and collaborative work style to join our Charlotte, NC office. This role will support our goal of being thought leaders by generating innovative design solutions early in the design process and will play a key role in mentoring and developing staff.
Experience may include project types such as education, civic/government, financial services, retail, office, interior renovation, high-tech/R&D, mission critical/data centers, and healthcare.

Position Responsibilities
Lead innovative design and problem-solving efforts from the earliest stages of a project
Develop and maintain strong client relationships
Generate and evaluate mechanical system design options
Offers technical or design expertise through mentorship and coaching to engineers and technicians through all phases of a project
Oversee and contribute to project work through all phases
Provide drawing coordination and technical oversight with clients, staff, and consultants
Perform site observations and construction administration tasks, including review of shop drawings and submittals
Mentor and support the development of junior staff
Participate in project pursuits and client interviews as a subject matter expert
Assist Studio Principal with financial aspects of projects including scope, fees and contracts and coordination of staff
Candidates will have some or all of the following Qualifications:
Registered Professional Engineer (PE); willingness to obtain licensure in additional states (NCEES Record a plus)
Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience designing HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and controls systems
Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
Experience using HVAC load modeling software (TRACE 3D)
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Working knowledge of building, energy, and mechanical/plumbing codes
Proven construction administration experience, including field engineering and issue resolution
Experience assessing existing buildings
Experience with LEED-certified projects and a passion for sustainability (LEED accreditation a plus)
