Soto seeks an experienced Project Architect/Project Manager to lead the design, delivery, and execution of our projects with the support of a capable team. This position is ideal for a highly motivated architect with 8+ years of experience who thrives on leading design and managing clients, consultants, and staff to deliver high quality multi-family projects on time and on budget.

About the role: The PA/PM is responsible for orchestrating multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating projects from design conception to construction documentation, and through construction administration. They have a robust skillset in design, a strong sense of graphics, great organizational and technical skills, and a disposition toward collaborative synergies.
In the first three months you can expect to:
Collaborate on project designs with all members of the firm
Lead documentation and BIM coordination for one to three projects at a time
Coordinate consultants, technical detailing, and material assemblies
Conduct internal drawing reviews in alignment with QA/QC standards
Lead zoning and code analysis specific to DC and surrounding jurisdictions
Develop permit submissions and respond to plan review comments
Contribute to project proposals, fees, and staffing plans
Lead projects in Conceptual and Schematic design
Over time you will have opportunities to:
Serve as technical lead for more complex projects
Lead the CA phase, conduct site visits, and review submittals and RFIs
Oversee production schedule for documentation phases
Increase client-facing responsibilities
Direct and mentor junior staff and participate in peer-to-peer knowledge sharing
Further develop office standards and operational procedures
Pursue professional development opportunities to continue learning and growing your skillset
Compensation
Salary range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications for this position include:
Licensed Architect required
An accredited professional architecture degree (B.Arch. or M.Arch)
8+ years of professional architecture experience, especially in multi-family/mixed use projects
Demonstrated experience leading the documentation and coordination of a minimum of 3 projects through all phases of design, including CA
Strong design and technical skills
Comfortable leading and contributing to an iterative design workflow that moves from rapid concept generation (sketching, modeling, visual studies) to refined, presentation-ready deliverables.
Highly proficient in Revit, SketchUp, and BlueBeam
Additional accreditations that align with industry passions are encouraged and supported (LEED, WELL, Passive House, etc.)
